what we believe

Holy Scriptures

The Holy Scriptures (Bible) is the inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21); it is therefore the Lawbook and Final Authority of BIBS.

One God

There is but ONE GOD; Creator and Preserver of the human race and the universe; He created the man (Adam) and his wife (Eve) in His own image and after His likeness to replenish the earth (Genesis 1:26-28; 20:20-25); He manifests Himself as FATHER in Creation, SON in Redemption and as HOLY SPIRIT empowering and leading His Church (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:6; St John 14:16-18).

Jesus, the Christ

Jesus, the Christ is the incarnate Word; God manifest in Flesh, the invisible God made visible (St John 1:14; Hebrews 1:3). God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself (2 Corinthians 5:19). The Godhead dwells fully completely in Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:19; 29).

The New Birth

The New Birth (Water and Spirit baptism) is necessary for one to enter the kingdom of God (St John 3:5). Those who believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ, repent and are baptised (by total immersion) in the Name of Jesus for the remission of their sins, shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38-41). The born again believer (regenerated) is baptised into the Body of Christ (the Church) on receipt of the Holy Spirit; and those that are led by the Spirit are the sons of God. (Romans 8:9-14).

The Church

The Church (the dead and those alive in Christ) will be caught up together to meet Christ in the air, prior to His second coming. (1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17). There is to be a resurrection of the dead at the second coming of Christ; and the final judgement of the unjust (Hebrews 9:27; Revelations 20:11-15).

The Institution of Marriage

Marriage is a unity between one man and one woman and they shall be one flesh (Genesis 2:18-24; Matthew 19:4-5)
